International Mail Delivery Delays

Due to COVID-19, the amount of postal airplanes used for international mail has decreased, causing a delay in international parcel delivery times.

If your order has been shipped and is taking longer than average to arrive, please check with your local postal service about your package's whereabouts.

Temporary Suspension of SAL Shipping

SAL shipping has been suspended in all countries as of April 2, 2020.

If your shipping option on a package ordered/sent before this date was SAL and your package has not arrived yet, please contact me on how to process your order.

Countries Where SAL/Airmail/EMS Are All Suspended

In addition to SAL shipping, the Japan Post has begun suspending Airmail and EMS shipping options to some countries as well. Below is a list of major countries where Japan Post shipping services are suspended:

Argentina, Australia, Brazil, India, Ireland, United Arab Emirates, United States of America

NOTE: If SAL, Airmail, and EMS services are all suspended to your country, please choose the Yamato Shipping option during checkout instead. 

Delayed & Returned Package FAQ

Below are the most common questions I've received about the recent postal delays and suspensions.

Q. Why are there so many international postal delays?

A. The number of planes used to carry international mail between countries has been decreased, so packages are taking longer to be shipped and processed.

Q. My package was sent out, but there are no updates to the tracking information. Where is my package?

A. If your package doesn't have any tracking updates yet, it means it's still waiting for a spot on an international postal plane to transport it.

Q. Who should I contact for more information on my package if it's already been shipped?

A. If your order has been shipped, please contact your local postal service with your tracking number (viewable from your My Account > Order History page) for more information. 

Q. How long will my package take to arrive?

A. All mail services are heavily delayed, so expect delivery times to take at least 2-3 times the normal rate.

Q. My tracking information says my package was returned. How will it be processed now?

A. If your package was originally sent via SAL (in March 2020) -> I will resend it to you via Airmail (for countries where Airmail isn't suspended) at no additional charge. 

Q. My order with Airmail/EMS shipping hasn't been shipped yet, and my country has suspended international mail services. How will it be processed?

A. I plan on sending out your pending order as soon as Airmail/EMS shipping options resume. If you would like to upgrade your order to Yamato shipping, please contact me.

Q. When will SAL/Airmail/EMS shipping options to my country resume?

A. No expected date of resumption has been announced. I will post on Get Kawaii's social media accounts if there are any updates from Japan's postal services. Please check your country's postal service website frequently for updates as well.
