‼️POSTAL UPDATE FOR US CUSTOMERS‼️
1. Beginning August 29, 2025, goods imported to the US from Japan will be subject to a 15% tariff.
2. Japan Post shipping to the US (for commercial packages) is temporarily suspended as of August 27, 2025. A new shipping option for US customers will be added sometime in November 2025.
3. New orders for US customers are temporarily suspended.
Until now, the US has had a “de minimis” (duty-free) waiver that allowed items worth $800 or less to be imported without a tax being taken, but President Trump signed an order on July 30, 2025 ending this waiver.
It’s still hard to say how strictly this tariff will be imposed, but please be aware that customs will likely contact you about payment before your packages are delivered.
I have disabled new orders for US customers until I can find a new shipping option.

⚠️NOTES
1. The de minimus waiver has been retracted for goods imported from all countries, not just Japan, so be careful when placing international orders.
2. I will research the best shipping options for US customers going forward and will post here on the site and Get Kawaii's social media accounts about any updates.
3. This new tariff is only for imports into the US and does not affect any other country.
4. Please make sure your contact information on your Get Kawaii account is up to date, as customs will use the contact information listed on your shipping label if any issues arise with your package.
I know this change will add inconvenient extra costs to US customers' orders. I’ll continue to share updates and tips on how to decrease their impact.

US Import Tariff FAQ
Q. When did this tariff begin?
A. The new tariff on imports into the US will be applied to packages going through US customs beginning on August 29, 2025.
Q. How much are the tariffs?
A. All products manufactured in Japan will be subject to a 15% tariff rate, in line with the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA). However, the rate is based on each item's country of origin, so the actual rate at which you are charged may vary (ex: If the product was made in China, the tariff rate for China will be applied).
Q. Who will be responsible for paying the tariff?
A. The recipient of the package will be responsible for paying the tariff.
Q. How/when do I pay for these tariffs?
A. Get Kawaii will include the cost of any tariffs or related fees in your order during checkout. You will not be charged any additional tariffs when your package goes through US customs.
Q. When will you start accepting orders from the US again?
A. I am hoping to add a new shipping option to the US sometime in November 2025.
